Feng Shui Reading for Your New Home

I know what you are now thinking. How a luxury cans bespoke residential service start lecturing its clients of Fueng Shui? The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominium and Residences has a long-time reputation of providing homes for expatriates in only the convenient places in Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and only offers primary locations. Is it possible that all those services are accompanied by good fortune of feng shui?

Feng Shui is one of the first things people look into when they are looking for a home. It’s not that we do or do not believe in Feng Shui. It’s just that we have hundreds of clients who have been requesting the right feng shiu tips from us that is why today’s article focuses on the feng shui readings applicable for new movers.

According to a review written by one of the most famous feng shui expert, Rodika Tchi, the most basic rule in attuning your homes is to find a good vibe for positive chi to enter. Universal energy should be allowed to freely flow into every room and crevices for you to achieve comfort, peace of mind and ample amount of fortune.  Here are the following steps you can review:

1. Place the most significant piece of furniture in the command position.
2. Keep the entry way open to allow the negative vibe to enter freely from the foyer to the overall surround of the place.
3. Make a clear division for a multi-purpose room. A curtain or a display cabinet can visually separate a room’s function to another.
4. Unify your environment with a consistent and harmonizing color scheme even when you are using different shades of single color.
5. As much as possible, use functional equipment and furniture. For condo living for instance. There are available couches which can be used as a bed later on or a writing desk which also has drawers underneath it for extra space.
6. Enlarge the Room with Mirrors since it can invite more positive energy in
7. Do a vertical cabinet for an upward success. You may also be surprised how every inch can be helpful for storage.
8. Clear cutter daily and make this an everday routine.

Feng Shui or not, we believe every condo owner should follow these steps. Positive energy can be summoned especially when you keep things neat and organized. When you take these steps in your small space you create your own private sanctuary: a welcoming environment you’ll be glad to come home to every night.

How to Keep your Home from Looking Cluttered

Some of us may have the habit of keeping things that are considered clutter for some people. With proper organization of these things, we can certainly do a creative system and at the same time not put to waste the things that we have invested in.

Matchmaker between expatriates of Jakarta, Indonesia, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Hong Kong and the best luxury residential and apartments, The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominiums and Residences has these following tips on how to keep your home from being cluttered:

1. Layering
There are just certain rooms that look incredibly rich, full and interesting. These are the kinds of rooms that seem to tell a story in every turn of your head. But layering can go wrong if you don’t have any idea on what pattern to match with another.

a. Start with your vignette
Rich spaces feature things on top of other things, most often framed art leaning on top of each other, then small knick knacks partnering with stacks of books to create more layers. But don't stop there. Bring a plant into the mix, and have a branch or two just overlap your layering work, adding even another layer into the mix.

b. Obscure and Conceal
There is a reason why your friends’ plant is on top of a book. You may have noticed it since they have intentionally obscured it from your view yet still turn out to be a very good design. Don’t be afraid to match your things on top of the other. It can also be a good game for your guest to discover something which lies hidden yet totally exposed on top of another.

2. Be Vertical
Wasting those precious spaces on top of your wall can be a shame. Create further storage on top of your cupboards. There will always be an extra storage spot on top of something. You can also take advantage of empty high spots with a simple stick on hooks. Review the hidden nooks and cranny of your home and you might find something.

3. Create Dividers
Instead of putting a thin divider, take advantage of a bigger one like bookshelves which can be convertible to another storage space. A good divider can help you get organized with your things and minimize complaints of extra clutter.

Creating a Bigger Space out of a Small Bathroom

Having your desired bathroom may be a big challenge. Trying to make everything fit into it is even harder. Among the challenges is on how to configure the toilet and sink, have the desired space for a shower and where to put your towels.

Good thing The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominiums and Residences has been able to provide the best homes for you with your specific qualifications on the detail. Expatriates from Singapore, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia do not need to worry anymore on achieving the best home for them.

And for the rest of you who would want to personalize their bathrooms using your own craft and creativity, we have prepared some tips to designing a picture-perfect bathroom for you to review and incorporate with your own ideas:

1. Shower Curtain
A shower curtain that moves back and forth saves space over a glass door. It also comes with different designs and patterns, enabling you to choose the best one that fits your personality

2. Corner Sink
The small space in the corner of the room is oftentimes neglected when it can provide the precious space needed in a bathroom. Decide on a corner sink to maximize space and make your bathroom more unique than others.

3. Floating Vanity
Despite mirrors being able to create an illusion of a bigger space, it can still take some space away. You can hang your vanity on a higher level and still create the illusion needed. Your only complaint in this is when you are small and can’t reach the height on which your vanity is hanged. Well, before you install the vanity, make sure, it can still be useful.

4. Expanded Mirror
In a very tight space, extending the mirror, instead of just relying on a small vanity can help make your space look even bigger and brighter. In less-than-ideal space conditions, every inch helps.

5. Large Patterns
Just like the mirror illusion, using big patters can also give a wider scope of your bathroom. A large-scale pattern, like this wide stripe, can trick the eye into seeing expanded space. The square footage might stay the same, but the bathroom will feel bigger.

6.Towel Bar
If you are wondering where to put your towel, why not take advantage of the space in your door and put a towel bar there? This way, it would be easier to take it and hang it again.

Now You Can Have an Office in Your Home

Experts always say that you shouldn’t be bringing your work at home. But in this demanding world where you cannot be left behind if you want to maintain your stature in society and those working hard are the ones who reap more, you can’t just sometimes ignore the fact that you still have things to do and it would be better to work at it while at home.

The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominiums and Residences, matchmaker between work-driven expatriates and luxury homes in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Jakarta, Indonesia and Hong Kong totally understand your situation. In response, we prepared some special tips for you to try and review as it would be vital while you are working at home. Why not make an office in your home? Although you might not need it always, at least you have somewhere to camp into when you need it most.

A metal desk and a wooden chair is not enough for you. You deserve more than that. Besides, living in a luxury home in a city like that of Jakarta, Hong Kong or Singapore would require you to get a more high-end home facility as an extension to the luxurious furniture you have in the office.

1. Location
As per the term “bespoke” itself, TPG can provide you with a certain place for your personal office space in your home. Since you are expected to spend hours on that space, you shouldn’t stiff yourself. Would you like it to be near the windows? By the door? Or would you want it locked in a room so you can get privacy? For sure, you would have some place inside your condo if need be.

2. Form or Function?
Your desk, shelves, and storage should serve you, not the other way around. Consider your workflow and what items you need at your fingertips before investing in furniture, and then look for pieces that are both beautiful and functional. Home office furniture should complement other rooms in your house instead of screaming "soulless cubicle." If your home has traditional décor, warm wood and soft, comfy chairs or a loveseat are ideal if you have the space. A contemporary home office can feature artistic pieces or modern metal furniture.

3. A great chair
You spend hours parked in your office chair; a beautiful, ergonomically-correct, comfortable seat is worth every dime. It doesn’t hurt when you don’t complain on comfort resulting to productivity.

The Secret of Color Hues

Having a new condominium is a good opportunity to let out the imaginative and creative side of an individual although it takes a lot of time and effort. Still, we always want our space to feel like our own. Reviewing a lot of tip sites are not enough.

According to a survey conducted by The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominium and Residences, matchmaker between the best and the most suitable luxury apartments and expatriates in the cities of Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Hong Kong, one of the most common issue among members is choosing the right palette of color to make their luxurious homes stand for its name. Most of them end up hiring a décor specialist who, most of the time, does not meet their demands.

In response to this, we have prepared a guide on how to choose the right color combination for you to be able to pick your own color scheme.

1. All white doesn’t make the room big
Contrary to the common conception, it does not matter much which color you are going to choose as long as furnishings are placed correctly and the chosen color can create inviting space with style beyond diminutive size.

2. Choose Sharp Colors
One of the best ways to expand a space is with very clear colors. Choose a palette of sharper colors as opposed to duller ones. Sharp as in bright chintzes mixed with colorful plaids or really hot reds and electric blues, yellows and greens (with plenty of air between the pieces). Color combinations with negative space in between will enhance the space's clarity and openness.

3. Color Unexpected Accents

Bring splashes of color to a radiator, the inside of a bookshelf or a windowsill to bring excitement and depth to a room. If you're lucky enough to have a foyer or hall, paint that a dark color and ease into a lighter shades in the living room, which will make it feel more spacious by comparison.

4. Create a Focal Wall
Many people are concerned about using bold colors as it can be too attention-grabbing. Contrary to the complaints, using deeper colors on one part of the wall can work wonders. Sometimes a darker color on one wall can make it recede, making the space look larger.

5. The Unending Black Power
Black may not be a color but it works in everything. A black item, say a lamp, will help emphasize the color palette that you have used.

Make Your Small Condo Look Bigger

Small living is now a world-wide trend. If you have reviewed some episodes of Tiny House Nation, then, you probably have been convinced that living in a small space is both practical and creative since it would cost you less and open your inner creativity. But it would be a very big challenge to squeeze into a small quarters, how much more to design it with so many stuff. You may now be scratching your head.

No worries. The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominium and Residences, matchmaker in finding the best and most suitable luxury residential and apartments for you and your family in Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Hong Kong is to provide tips on the best things to do when you have a limited space and make it look bigger.
  1. Mirror
  2. Nothing beats mirrors when it comes to making the room look bigger. As the image in the mirror is reflecting that of the space, it makes it look like an extension of the place itself. With proper lighting position, mirrors may very well serve multiple purposes.

  3. Open Curtains
  4. Since heavy and dark draperies refract the light from entering the room, it can give a gloomy and dark effect. Opening windows to let the light spread inside the place may help things get a little more perspective plus help you get fresher air especially if you are living many floors up.

  5. Different Shades for the Same Colors
  6. Each color has different shades. It would be better to choose the one color and use different shades on it for unity. You wouldn’t want contrasting colors tug and pull each other. You don’t want to hear your guest complain because of highly unorganized color clutter.

  7. Stay away from Unnecessary Details
  8. Avoid using designs such as ruffles or large prints attached to your furniture and windows. Try to invest on smaller patterns or plain color fabrics and achieve a single and unified look to make the room visually roomy. Stick to these basic rules and be creative! Dealing with a smaller space once you have decided to live in a condo can actually be more exciting than daunting. You can unleash the interior designer and artist in you; express yourself while creating a more convenient living space for yourself and your loved ones.

  9. Less is Best
  10. Try to limit the clutter in your condominium particularly the furniture. Sometimes having large but multifunctional furniture would be more beneficial in the long run rather than having small home equipment taking too much space in the areas of your abode. Let go and do not get attached with things which you have not used in a year, you may just sell them online. With a minimalist style of condo living, you will appreciate the lasting comfort and breathing space it will eventually create.

What to Know When Renting an Apartment Online

While there are a lot of businesses already starting their presence online, we all should be aware of the pros and cons of internet purchasing especially when it is for residential purposes?

Members of The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominiums and Residential, a matchmaker in finding the most suitable luxury apartment and residences for fellow expatriates in Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia have accounted to some stories which prove the existence of fraudulent online scams. If they, executives and managers in their respective fields admit to have been victims of these scams, then, it can possibly happen to you too.

The following are the things to keep in mind when doing transactions on renting online:

1. Know who you are dealing with
Always make sure you know exactly who you are dealing with, as different actors in the business offer different services and guaranties. The following are the four main actors in the apartment rental sector:

o Dealing directly with owners
 Although this may seem like a very personal way to rent an apartment, always keep in mind that when dealing directly with owners, some of them won’t provide you with a contract.

o Online marketplaces
 Online marketplaces offer an online platform where owners can list their properties. Again, there are no set guarantees here, as these marketplaces don’t check an apartment before they advertise it online. Owners themselves put pictures of the apartments online, so you cannot be sure they genuinely reflect the apartment you want to rent, nor its actual condition.

o Travel agencies
 Travel agencies often offer a certain level of security, such as a refund or insurance. However, travel agencies still don’t visit the apartments themselves, so they don’t know the products they’re selling personally. However, some travel agencies work with reputable real estate agencies like New York Habitat.

o Real Estate brokers
 Real estate brokers are professionals and would have a good command of the market.

2. Do not send money via unsecured means of payment
When you want to pay for your apartment, whether it is for a deposit of the rent itself, be careful not to use services of payment that have no traceability. By making wire transfers to a bank account or using credit cards you are sure the payment can be tracked. You can also use trusted PayPal accounts or pay directly through a website that displays secure payment methods.

3. Ask for additional details
Pictures, videos, floor plans and information about a rental you are interested in should be provided when asked. If they cannot give it to you, then, they may be up to no good. Better secure your money and deal with legitimate businesses like The Peterson Group instead.

How to Sell a Luxury Home ?

Many condominium owners invest on marketing team for their businesses. Established ones may not even need it anymore. Same goes for those who are selling their expensive homes. Of course, you would not want to sell your homes to just anyone. And you would want to market it efficiently.

The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominiums and Residential understand your concern. With years in service and matchmaking and providing only the best and most suitable home for clients starting in our main office in Singapore and eventually partnering with only the best names in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Jakarta, Indonesia, we have the same concerns when we first started this business. Thankfully, we have surpassed it.

Getting a real estate agent can be risky at times. Many fraudulent agents are already rampant and if there is a choice, you would want to do the marketing yourself. Here are some tips that can help you sell that luxury home of yours:

1. Continuously expand your circle
Of course, let’s all admit it. Since you can afford that luxury home, you probably have made a big name for yourself. Your social circle may already have been wide. If not, then, you need to get involved in several charities, do a lot of humanitarian projects and be on several boards. Share your listings with organization members and event attendees. Even if they aren’t interested in my listing, they might have a friend or client who is. Every so often also reach out to different companies and forge relationships with the decision makers

2. Know Your Client
What do they do in their free time? Do they own jets, horses? Where do they shop? Where do they spend their money? In conducting web research and review of the profile of your clients you can find out more about them—which enables you to develop a profile of what will interest them in the sell or purchase of their home. Also sending a short questionnaire and up-to date account of my existing listings can be beneficial. People don’t always know what they want, but when forced to articulate a price point and what architectural style and amenities they might gravitate to, locating their new home can be that much quicker and painless.

3. Tell the Story of the Home
The story of the home makes it anything but ordinary. The home itself can always be used as a pitch. Share with your potential clients everything about the home, from the brand name appliances and types of materials, to the style aesthetics and architecture. This even includes neighborhood and amenities.

Condominiums for Convenience

More and more people are currently reviewing their housing options. Well, since we are in an age which finding time at home is a luxury, we might as well push it forward. Condominium options are limitless for your expatriate tastes.

These days, you can see condominiums rising everywhere in light of growing demand. In the city outskirts and suburban towns, housing projects are also flourishing.

The Peterson Group Bespoke Condominium and Residences, your agent in finding the best and the most suitable condominiums and residences in the cities of Singapore, Jakarta, Indonesia, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia has been frequently asked on the most important feature of a condominium.

Here are things you should consider:

1.            Location
Condominiums are often situated in prime locations – at city centers, near shopping malls, churches, marketplaces, restaurants, schools and major transportation hubs. The close proximity allows you to reduce commute time and costs.

2.            Space
You may not be able to expand your space when you are living in a condominium but you can still customize your space. There are also available spaces to choose from when owning a condo.

3.            Maintenance
For any construction, repairs or renovations in a condominium unit, you usually need to ask permission from the building’s administration office. The shared areas, though, are maintained by the building management. Still, you have people to clean for your unit so your complaints may be minimized when it comes to keeping your place clean.

4.            Price
A house is usually more expensive than a condo. Condos have a very wide price range. Lower-range condominiums are often within the budget of first-time buyers and start-up families. You find a house with the same price in less desirable neighborhoods and suburban areas.

5.            Privacy and security
Part of the condominium dues goes to ensuring the privacy and security of unit owners. Living in a condo promises a well-secured area where only residents can enter and visitors are screened. Houses can be as private and secured, but this depends on the location and the neighborhood.

6.            Amenities
Condominiums have amenities such as a swimming pool, gym, tennis and basketball courts and reception area. Some of these amenities most of us cannot afford installing in our own homes. There are subdivisions, though, that have clubhouse areas.

7.            Resale

Condominiums are more sensitive to resale compared to houses. The condominium sector is usually the first to be hit and the last to recover when the housing market declines.
